Full Professor of Mechanics of Machines since May 2018. From October 2012 to April 2018 he has been Director of the Mechanical Engineering Course of the School of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Bologna. From 2017 he is member of the Academic Board of the Doctoral programme in “Automotive Engineering for Intelligent Mobility” at the University of Bologna. Member of the Academic Senate of the Bologna University, as Professor Representative of the Technological Area (Area no. 2), for the period 2018-2021. Director of Organisational Unit (UOS) Forlì of Department of Industrial Engineering (DIN), since May 2018. Scientific director of several research projects in collaboration with industries in automation and automotive. His research activity mainly concerns the Mechanical Vibrations, with competencies in: advanced methods for monitoring and diagnostics of machinery faults based on vibration analysis; mathematical modelling and simulation of the elasto-dynamic behaviour of mechanical systems; model based diagnostics. Author of about 100 papers, mostly published in international journals or international conference proceedings.
