Dr. Liu Kai received his Ph.D. degree in Transportation Engineering from Nagoya University in 2006 and received an M. Eng. and a B.Eng. degree in Urban Planning from Tongji University, China. He is a professor at the School of Transportation and Logistics, Dalian University of Technology, China. His areas of specialties include transportation planning and management, ATIS, travel behavior modeling, GIS in transportation, and transportation environments. Dr. Liu has published 100+ academic papers in professional journals and conference proceedings, among which 50+ papers have been indexed by SCI/SSCI. His papers have been non-self-cited around 1600+ times according to Google Scholar. Recently, his studies have focused on key technologies and methodologies in the transportation field (including elaborate data collection and treatment, data fusion, pattern recognition, visualization, and information mining) and in green transportation systems (including electric vehicle systems and demand-responsive bus systems, as well as the technologies for reducing traffic energy consumption and emissions). His research has been applied to realize carbon neutrality in transportation systems, including electric vehicle systems and demand-responsive bus systems.
