Yang Zhao is a lecturer and School Young Top Talent at the National Key Laboratory of Petroleum Resources and Engineering, China, and the University of Petroleum (Beijing), Beijing, China. He holds a bachelor’s degree from China University of Petroleum (East China) (2010–2014), a master’s degree from China University of Petroleum (East China) (2014–2017), a PhD from Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri University of Science and Technology, USA) (2017–2021), and now is a teacher at China University of Petroleum (Beijing) (2022–present). His research interests are (1) CO2 flooding enhanced oil recovery and geological storage: deep reservoir profile control, CO2 gas channelling control, CO2 storage leakage risk control, wellbore integrity, etc. (2) Low permeability and tight oil and gas development, shale oil and other unconventional oil and gas development, and (3) chemical flooding to improve oil recovery.
