Petre Ionita obtained his B.Sc./M.Sc. degrees from the University of Bucharest, where he currently holds the position of Professor of Organic Chemistry. He earned his Ph.D. from 'Politehnica' University of Bucharest. Additionally, he gained several years of postdoctoral research experience at the University of York, UK. Prior to his appointment at the University of Bucharest, he served as a Researcher at the Institute of Physical Chemistry in Bucharest, Romania. He has led several research grants, and supervised students at the undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and postdoctoral levels. His research interests cover organic chemistry, free-radical chemistry, nanomaterials, synthesis, and structural characterization.
