Glória Queiroz is associate professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto. She is a member of the Mechanistic Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy Unit, a research group of the Applied Molecular Biosciences Unit, a research unit recognized by FCT, the Portuguese agency for research and technology. The present work is in line with the research she started during her PhD on the mechanisms of neurotransmitter release induced by glutamate, involving glial cells. Her present interests are still in the mechanisms through which noradrenaline and purines participate, namely in their role on tumorigenesis and on the contribution for the immunosupressor environment in cancer. Gloria Queiroz has been a member of the Portuguese Pharmacological Society since 1999.
