Since 1994, he has been a full professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Perugia, where he was Deputy-Rector between 2002 and 2014.
From 2007 to 2013, he was the chairman of the Italian Electrical Engineering Academic Group.
From 2016 to 2020, he was the coordinator of the H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Eu Network project "NDTonAIR" (2016-2020) for non-destructive testing of aircraft structures.
He is the author of more than 140 indexed scientific papers and book chapters.
