To overcome the effect of temperature on laser gyro zero bias and to stabilize the laser gyro output, this study proposes a modified radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) based on a Kohonen network and an orthogonal least squares (OLS) algorithm. The modified method, which combines the pattern classification capability of the Kohonen network and the optimal choice capacity of OLS, avoids the random selection of RBFNN centers and improves the compensation accuracy of the RBFNN. It can quickly and accurately identify the effect of temperature on laser gyro zero bias. A number of comparable identification and compensation tests on a variety of temperature-changing situations are completed using the multiple linear regression (MLR), RBFNN and modified RBFNN methods. The test results based on several sets of gyro output in constant and changing temperature conditions demonstrate that the proposed method is able to overcome the effect of randomly selected RBFNN centers. The running time of the method is about 60 s shorter than that of traditional RBFNN under the same test conditions, which suggests that the calculations are reduced. Meanwhile, the compensated gyro output accuracy using the modified method is about 7.0 × 10−4 °/h; comparatively, the traditional RBFNN is about 9.0 × 10−4 °/h and the MLR is about 1.4 × 10−3 °/h.

The grid strapdown inertial navigation system (SINS) used in polar navigation also includes three kinds of periodic oscillation errors as common SINS are based on a geographic coordinate system. Aiming ships which have the external information to conduct a system reset regularly, suppressing the Schuler periodic oscillation is an effective way to enhance navigation accuracy. The Kalman filter based on the grid SINS error model which applies to the ship is established in this paper. The errors of grid-level attitude angles can be accurately estimated when the external velocity contains constant error, and then correcting the errors of the grid-level attitude angles through feedback correction can effectively dampen the Schuler periodic oscillation. The simulation results show that with the aid of external reference velocity, the proposed external level damping algorithm based on the Kalman filter can suppress the Schuler periodic oscillation effectively. Compared with the traditional external level damping algorithm based on the damping network, the algorithm proposed in this paper can reduce the overshoot errors when the state of grid SINS is switched from the non-damping state to the damping state, and this effectively improves the navigation accuracy of the system.

The Internet of Things (IoT), comprising networked unmanned surface vehicles (NUSVs), enables significant advancements in distributed optimal coordination techniques for marine activities. However, constrained communication bandwidth and long transmission delays pose substantial challenges to achieving optimal operations of NUSVs. To address these challenges, this article proposes a delay-tolerant distributed optimization method (DTDOM) based on a time assignment event-driven communication mechanism (TAEDCM). In this approach, the memory-based state estimator (MSE) is developed to provide reliable data support for implementing the TAEDCM-based DTDOM. Specifically, the MSE within DTDOM estimates neighbors’ states using historical data pairs during packet gaps, while the one within TAEDCM predicts possible neighbor estimates from locally recorded data. Additionally, a communication assignment approach (CAA) integrated into TAEDCM is proposed to allocate interaction activation slots for each vehicle, preventing channel competition caused by simultaneous data exchanges. Compared with existing methods, the proposed framework offers advantages in actively compensating the delay-induced lag errors, determining appropriate communication timings under long delays, and ensuring competition-free intervehicle interactions. Theoretical analysis and semiphysical simulations validate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed solution.

Agile satellite imaging scheduling plays a vital role in improving emergency response, urban planning, national defense, and resource management. With the rise in the number of in-orbit satellites and observation windows, the need for diverse agile earth observation satellite (AEOS) scheduling has surged. However, current research seldom addresses multiple optimization objectives, which are crucial in many engineering practices. This paper tackles a multi-objective agile earth observation satellite scheduling problem (MOAEOSSP) that aims to optimize total observation task profit, satellite energy consumption, and load balancing. To address this intricate problem, we propose a multi-strategy fusion dung beetle optimization (SFMODBO) algorithm. This novel algorithm harnesses the position update characteristics of various dung beetle populations and integrates multiple high-adaptability strategies. Consequently, it strikes a better balance between global search capability and local exploitation accuracy, making it more effective at exploring the solution space and avoiding local optima. The SFMODBO algorithm enhances global search capabilities through diverse strategies, ensuring thorough coverage of the search space. Simultaneously, it significantly improves local optimization precision by fine-tuning solutions in promising regions. This dual approach enables more robust and efficient problem-solving. Simulation experiments confirm the effectiveness and efficiency of the SFMODBO algorithm. Results indicate that it significantly outperforms competitors across multiple metrics, achieving superior scheduling schemes. In addition to these enhanced metrics, the proposed algorithm also exhibits advantages in computation time and resource utilization. This not only demonstrates the algorithm’s robustness but also underscores its efficiency and speed in solving the MOAEOSSP.

The a priori fault probability of the real-time precise satellite orbit and clock correction products is the critical parameter for integrity monitoring of precise point positioning (PPP). The traditional fault probability evaluation methods use the worst-case instantaneous user ranging error (IURE) as the conservative test statistic. However, the systematic biases of IURE contained in the worst-case IURE barely affect the PPP accuracy, which will undermine the statistical distribution of test statistic and reduce the sensitivity of fault detection. The fault probability will be estimated over-conservatively for the traditional methods. By clarifying the sources of the systematic biases, a new test statistic is constructed by deliberately removing the systematic biases of IURE originated from satellite orbit and clock errors. One-year Global Positioning System correction products evaluation results have demonstrated that the constructed test statistic follows the Gaussian distribution with the decreased uncertainty and the improved fault detection sensitivity. The real-world data experiments have shown that the a priori probabilities of the satellite fault and the constellation fault are at the order of 10−4 and 10−5 levels, respectively.
