I am a PhD candidate in Microbiology and Marine Sciences, jointly enrolled at Université Clermont Auvergne (France) and the University of Algarve’s Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR, Portugal), through affiliation with the Institut Pascal’s GePEB team (UMR 6602) and CCMAR’s MarBiotech research group (2022–present). I obtained my Master’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Bordeaux (France) in 2020. My doctoral research focuses on strain improvement, in collaboration with the non-profit platform GreenColab, and on applying transcriptomic approaches (RNA-Seq) to investigate how metabolism and the synthesis of valuable bioproducts are regulated under stress conditions. My experience includes random mutagenesis, FACS-based selection, and biochemical analyses of exopolysaccharides and lipids. Before my PhD, I worked as an Assistant Engineer on the INTERREG NWE project ALG-AD at the European Institute for Marine Studies (IUEM, team LEMAR), where I contributed to the scale-up of microalgal cultivation from laboratory to pilot scale (up to 500 L) and analyzed nutrient and lipid profiles for aquaculture applications in collaboration with the French research institute Ifremer. My research interests include microalgal biotechnology, stress physiology, and metabolic engineering.
