Jidong Wu is a professor at the School of National Safety and Emergency Management, Beijing Normal University. He graduated from Northwest Normal University with a degree in Geography in 2005. He obtained a PhD in Physical Geography from Beijing Normal University in 2010. He joined Beijing Normal University as a lecturer at the Academy of Disaster Reduction and Emergency Management from 2010 to 2014, an associate professor at the Academy of Disaster Reduction and Emergency Management from 2014 to 2016, an associate professor at the Faculty of Geography from 2016 to 2019, a professor at the Faculty of Geography from 2019 to 2021, and a professor at the School of National Safety and Emergency Management from 2021 to date. His research interests include economic impact assessment of disasters and disaster risk management. He has presided over/participated in many National Natural Science Foundation projects, national key research and development program projects, etc., and participated in the second Qinghai-Tibe
