Dr. Alex de Nazaré de Oliveira holds a Licentiate degree in Chemistry (2009), as well as a Master’s (2012) and a PhD (2019) in Physical Chemistry from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA). I am currently an Assistant Professor at the Federal University of Amapá (UNIFAP). My professional and academic career is dedicated to Inorganic Physical Chemistry and Heterogeneous Catalysis. As a member and collaborator of the Research Group on Biocatalysis and Applied Organic Synthesis, my personal and scientific mission focuses on sustainability: I investigate the utilization and valorization of waste materials to produce catalytic supports and materials for high-value-added organic transformations. I take pride in developing work focused on the synthesis and characterization of mesoporous heterogeneous catalysts derived from flint metakaolin, employing clean technologies—such as microwave radiation—for acid-catalyzed reactions and esterification. I am a member of scientific societies in the fields of Chemistry and Catalysis and have received academic recognition for the impact and innovation of my research regarding the repurposing of mineral waste in the Amazon region.
