As a popular machine learning method, federated learning (FL) can effectively solve the issues of data silos and data privacy. However, traditional federated learning schemes cannot provide sufficient privacy protection. Furthermore, most secure federated learning schemes based on local differential privacy (LDP) ignore an important issue: they do not consider each client’s differentiated privacy requirements. This paper introduces a perturbation algorithm (PDPM) that satisfies personalized local differential privacy (PLDP), resolving the issue of inadequate or excessive privacy protection for some participants due to the same privacy budget set for all clients. The algorithm enables clients to adjust the privacy parameters according to the sensitivity of their data, thus allowing the scheme to provide personalized privacy protection. To ensure the privacy of the scheme, we have conducted a strict privacy proof and simulated the scheme on both synthetic and real data sets. Experiments have demonstrated that our scheme is successful in producing high-quality models and fulfilling the demands of personalized privacy protection.

The study of the architectural heritage of the Chinese diaspora has an important role and significance in China’s historical and cultural background in the preservation of cultural data, the restoration of images, and in the analysis of human social and ideological conditions. The images from the architectural heritage of the Chinese diaspora usually include frescos, decorative patterns, chandelier base patterns, various architectural styles and other major types of architecture. Images of the architectural heritage of the Chinese diaspora in Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, China are the research object of this study. A total of 5073 images of diaspora Chinese buildings in 64 villages and 16 towns were collected. In view of the fact that different types of image vary greatly in features while there are only small differences among the features of the same type of image, this study uses the depth learning method to design the Convolutional Neural Network Attention Retrieval Framework (CNNAR Framework). This approach can be divided into two stages. In the first stage, the transfer learning method is used to classify the image in question by transferring the trained parameters of the Paris500K datasets image source network to the target network for training, and thus the classified image is obtained. The advantage of this method is that it narrows the retrieval range of the target image. In the second stage, the fusion attention mechanism is used to extract the features of the images that have been classified, and the distance between similar images of the same type is reduced by loss of contrast. When we retrieve images, we can use the features extracted in the second stage to measure the similarities among them and return the retrieval results. The results show that the classification accuracy of the proposed method reaches 98.3% in the heritage image datasets of the JMI Chinese diaspora architectures. The mean Average Precision (mAP) of the proposed algorithm can reach 76.6%, which is better than several mainstream model algorithms. At the same time, the image results retrieved by the algorithm in this paper are very similar to those of the query image. In addition, the CNNAR retrieval framework proposed in this paper achieves accuracies of 71.8% and 72.5% on the public data sets Paris500K and Corel5K, respectively, which can be greatly generalized and can, therefore, also be effectively applied to other topics datasets. The JMI architectural heritage image database constructed in this study, which is rich in cultural connotations of diaspora Chinese homeland life, can provide strong and reliable data support for the follow-up study of the zeitgeist of the culture reflected in architecture and the integration of Chinese and Western aesthetics. At the same time, through the rapid identification, classification, and retrieval of precious architectural images stored in the database, similar target images can be retrieved reasonably and accurately; then, accurate techniques can be provided to restore old and damaged products of an architectural heritage.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is characterized by highly structural heterogeneity. However, most previous studies analyzed between-group differences through a structural covariance network constructed based on the ASD group level, ignoring the effect of between-individual differences. We constructed the gray matter volume-based individual differential structural covariance network (IDSCN) using T1-weighted images of 207 children (ASD/healthy controls: 105/102). We analyzed structural heterogeneity of ASD and differences among ASD subtypes obtained by a K-means clustering analysis based on evidently different covariance edges relative to healthy controls. The relationship between the distortion coefficients (DCs) calculated at the whole-brain, intra- and interhemispheric levels and the clinical symptoms of ASD subtypes was then examined. Compared with the control group, ASD showed significantly altered structural covariance edges mainly involved in the frontal and subcortical regions. Given the IDSCN of ASD, we obtained 2 subtypes, and the positive DCs of the 2 ASD subtypes were significantly different. Intra- and interhemispheric positive and negative DCs can predict the severity of repetitive stereotyped behaviors in ASD subtypes 1 and 2, respectively. These findings highlight the crucial role of frontal and subcortical regions in the heterogeneity of ASD and the necessity of studying ASD from the perspective of individual differences.

Alzheimer's disease(AD) poses a significant challenge due to its widespread prevalence and the lack of effective treatments, highlighting the urgent need for early detection. This research introduces an enhanced neural network, named ADnet, which is based on the VGG16 model, to detect Alzheimer's disease using two-dimensional MRI slices. ADNet incorporates several key improvements: it replaces traditional convolution with depthwise separable convolution to reduce model parameters, replaces the ReLU activation function with ELU to address potential issues with exploding gradients, and integrates the SE(Squeeze-and-Excitation) module to enhance feature extraction efficiency. In addition to the primary task of MRI feature extraction, ADnet is simultaneously trained on two auxiliary tasks: clinical dementia score regression and mental state score regression. Experimental results demonstrate that compared to the baseline VGG16, ADNet achieves a 4.18% accuracy improvement for AD vs. CN classification and a 6% improvement for MCI vs. CN classification. These findings highlight the effectiveness of ADnet in classifying Alzheimer's disease, providing crucial support for early diagnosis and intervention by medical professionals. The proposed enhancements represent advancements in neural network architecture and training strategies for improved AD classification.

Segmentation of blood vessels in retinal fundus images is crucial for detecting and diagnosing eye diseases. In recent years, the application of deep learning methods based on convolutional neural networks (CNN) in retinal blood vessel segmentation has made significant progress in performance. However, the down-sampling operation used by CNN to extract high-level contextual semantics will cause the loss of low-level blood vessel spatial details. Therefore, accurately segmenting retinal blood vessels remains challenging. In this paper, we propose a hierarchical full-resolution fusion network (HFRF-Net) for accurate blood vessel segmentation from retinal fundus images. In HFRF-Net, we design spatial path and contextual path based on a hierarchical structure, which is used to extract rich spatial features and sufficient contextual semantics respectively. In the contextual path, we propose a cross-scale attention (CSA) block to simulate the interaction at multiple scales in the vascular region. Then, to cope with the loss of spatial information, we propose a full-resolution learning strategy, which consists of a spatial detail enhancement (SDE) block and a full-resolution fusion (FRF) block. The SDE block performs fine-grained analysis and feature extraction of blood vessels by multiplexing the original fundus images in the spatial path. Meanwhile, the FRF block is proposed to guide the full-resolution information fusion of contextual path and spatial path, which preserves the microstructure of blood vessels to the greatest extent. In addition to the design of the network architecture, we also propose a topology-aware connectivity booster (TCB) to improve the connectivity of blood vessels in the segmentation map. We conducted extensive experiments on three mainstream retinal fundus image datasets (DRIVE, CHASE-DB1, and STARE). Compared to other state-of-the-art methods, the results demonstrate that our method achieves superior segmentation performance.
