Sébastien Buchwalder received his MSc in Biomedical Engineering, majoring in electronic implants, from the University of Bern in 2016. His master's thesis aimed to develop a system capable of evaluating the reliability of thin-film coatings for neuro-stimulation electrodes. He further honed his expertise as an application engineer at Femtoprint SA, focusing on laser-assisted 3D printing. In 2019, he started studying for a PhD at the University of Bern, collaborating with Coat-X SA. His research focuses on the application of innovative barrier coatings for implantable encapsulation solutions, bridging the gap between academia and the high-performance coatings industry.
