Manlio Caldara M.Sc. obtained his master's degree cum laude in Pharmacy from the University of Camerino, Italy, in 2019. During his studies, he participated in different research projects focused on the fields of organic synthesis and biological evaluation of new small molecules as antibiotics. In March 2020, he started his PhD studies at the Sensor Engineering Department, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Maastricht University. His research interests include the synthesis of novel polymer materials as recognition elements in chemical/biological sensors, electrochemical readout technologies, and the development of novel sensing technologies that can be used for healthcare and environmental applications.
