Abutrab A. Aliverdiev is Professor of two departments of Dagestan State University: Applied Mathematics and Theoretical & Computational Physics, chief researcher of Institute for Geothermal Researches and Renewable Energy - a branch of the Joint Institute for High Temperatures of Russian Academy of Sciences. For his early works in the area of time-resolved spectrotomography and chronotomography, he was awarded a Medal of the Russian Academy of Sciences for young scientists (2001) and an Academia Europaea Prize (2002). From 2001, in collaboration with ENEA (CR in Frascati and Casaccia, Roma), he was involved in correlative interferometric image analysis applied to velocimetry and ESPI. Since 2004, in collaboration with Dipartimento di Fisica "G.Occhialini" e INFM, Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, and from 2012 with the Centre Lasers Intenses et Applications, Université Bordeaux 1, he has been involved in work with power laser systems, laser-driven shocks, matter under extreme conditions, etc. Since 2006, he has been a member of the European Physical Society (EPS). Recently, he has been involved in work on the application of fraction order derivatives for equilibrium and non-equilibrium thermodynamics generalizations. He has also returned to experimental thermal physics with applications in geophysics and petrophysics. Beyond scientific research, he works for science popularization, both in literature and publicism, and provides seminars and lectures.
