Dr. Natascia Tiso is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biology, University of Padova (Padua), Italy. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Bologna, University of Ferrara, and University of Padova, and has been the recipient of several prizes including the L'Oréal-UNESCO award For Women in Science. She recently led a series of international/national projects supported by AFM-Telethon France, Italian Telethon, and the Italian Ministry for Universities and Research. She has published over 100 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, is a member of the European Zebrafish Society (EZS) and the Italian Genetics Association, and serves as a Representative for Europe and West Asia for the International Zebrafish Society. She teaches in disciplines related to human genetics, applied biology, and model organisms in research. Her interests include zebrafish modeling of inherited diseases (arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, POLG mitochondrial diseases), and congenital/acquired pathologies (fetal growth restriction, cancer).
