Lorenzo Capineri was born in Florence, Italy, in 1962. He graduated in electronics engineering in 1988, then obtained a PhD in non-destructive controls in 1993, and obtained a postdoctoral fellowship in advanced processing methods for penetrating radar systems in 1994. In 1995, he became a researcher, and in 2004, an associate professor of electronics at the Department of Information Engineering, University of Florence. In 2017, he obtained the national scientific qualification as full professor in electronics. He has worked on several research projects in collaboration with national and international industries. He is the co-author of six Italian patents, four book chapters, and more than 300 scientific and technical articles.
