Dr. Gerardo Espinosa-Pérez is currently a Full Professor at the
National Autonomous University of Mexico. He received an M.Sc. degree in
electrical engineering at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies,
Guadalajara, Mexico, in 1989 and a Ph.D. degree at the Faculty of Engineering
of the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 1993. In 1986, he joined the
Faculty of Higher Studies Cuautitlan of the National Autonomous University of
Mexico and since 1989, he has been a professor at the Faculty of Engineering of
the same university, where he has taught different subjects related to
Automatic Control and Mathematics. Moreover, he is now a National Level II Researcher
in the National System of Researchers. His research topics mainly
include the control of nonlinear systems with physical structure, especially
Lagrangian and Hamiltonian systems.
