Andrea Orsini was born in Rome, Italy, in 1978. He completed his M.Sc. (cum laude) in Electronic Engineering at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" in 2002. His master's thesis was titled "Thin Film Micro Thermopiles." Afterward, he worked as a graduate technician at the same university until 2006, under the supervision of Prof. Arnaldo D'Amico. In 2006, he joined the Ph.D. program on "Materials for Environment and Energy" at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata." As part of his Ph.D. program, he was invited to work at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory for one year. During this time, his main task was to design and build a pulsed laser deposition system at the ALS synchrotron, focusing on the study of electronic properties of transition metal oxides. From 2010 to 2016, he became a part of the Piezo-Nano-Devices group at the Department of Electronic Engineering, University of Rome "Tor Vergata," led by Christian Falconi. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor at the University "Niccolò Cusano," where he teaches Digital Electronics and Microelectronics. His research interests include material science, electronic and piezoelectric properties at the nanoscale, sensors, microsystems, and nanosystems for energy and biomedical applications.
