Yang Sun is a PhD in Preventive Veterinary Medicine. He obtained his doctorate in Jilin University in 2007. He has accepted a research professorship at Changchun Veterinary Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in 2014. The main research direction was the prevention and control of zoonosis. The objectives of his research were to develop genetic engineering vaccines and to discover new virulence-associated genes. The current research direction mainly focuses on the mechanism and molecular epidemiology of bacterial drug resistance. He was a director of the Infectious Diseases Branch of the Chinese Association Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine.
