Prof. Dr. Fonseca Teresa is an associate professor of habilitation at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, where she directs Forest Assessment, Modeling, and Forest Management courses. She holds a PhD in Forestry Sciences and conducts research in the scientific domains of her speciality areas, participating in research projects and serving as an author of scientific and technical publications of national and international dissemination. She is a researcher at the CITAB-UTAD research centre. She is the Co-coordinator of Division 1 (Silviculture) of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO). She is also a modeller at CAPSIS. She received a professional forester degree (Forest Engineer, 5 years), an M.Sc. in Forest Resources and a PhD in Forest Science from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), Portugal. She has certified training in data science through the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (MIT-IDSS), MIT Professional Education's Applied Data Science Programme and acquired certified training in Training for Trainers specialising in Gender Equality. She has been a Professor at UTAD since 2004, developing research in Forest Science, namely in forest biometrics, forest inventory, forest management and modelling of forest resources.
