Ahmed Zaky, MD, MPH, MSHQS, MBA, CMQ,FASA is a professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He earned his MPH from University of Washington, completed his anesthesiology residency from University of Miami, completed his adult cardiothoracic anesthesiology fellowship from Cleveland Clinic Hospital and completed his multi-organ transplant anesthesiology fellowship from University of Miami. He is the Associate Vice Chair of Quality and Safety at the Division of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center, overseeing all quality and safety projects in cardiac operating rooms and intensive care units. His professional interests include quality and safety, the implementation of advanced technology in creating electronic quality and safety protocols and the use of artificial intelligence to create prediction models of preventable adverse events.
