Dr. Irene Voukkali is a Lecturer at the Open University of Cyprus in the scientific area of Urban Metabolism. She has studied Food Science at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds two Masters, one in Food Science from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the second one in Environmental Engineering from the University of Cyprus. Furthermore, she holds a PhD in the scientific area of Urban Metabolism from the Open University of Cyprus. She has published more than 50 scientific papers in international scientific journals, as well as giving more than 80 presentations at International and National Conferences. In addition, she has written 8 chapters for 5 scientific books, and she is one of the reviewers of more than 5 scientific journals. Her Google Scholar h-index is now 21. Her research background includes more than 12 years of experience in the following subjects: City metabolism, Key Performance Indicators, Strategic Planning development, Zero Waste approaches, Waste prevention, Sustainable Development programmes, Solid Waste Management, Environmental Impact and Environmental Risk Assessment Analysis, Multi-criteria analysis models.
