Cassius V. Stevani is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Chemistry, University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. His research focuses on bioluminescence, particularly the chemistry and biology of fungal bioluminescence, as well as environmental chemistry, enzymology, and molecular and synthetic biology. He leads the Laboratory of Fungal Bioluminescence (LBF) at USP, where his group investigates the molecular mechanisms, evolution, and biotechnological applications of light-emitting organisms. His current research also integrates genomics, metagenomics, and genetic engineering to explore biological systems and develop new biotechnological applications.
