Dr Elias Zois was born in Athens, Greece. He received his BSc in Physics in 1994, his MSc in Electronics in 1997 and his PhD in 2000, all from the Department of Physics at the University of Patras in Patras, Greece. Since 2008, he has served as an adjunct professor at the Technological and Educational Institution of Athens. He was a lecturer starting in 2009 and an assistant professor starting in 2015 at the Technological and Educational Institution of Athens. He has held an associate professor position at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of West Attica, Athens, Greece, since 2022. His main research interests include digital signal and image processing, system implementation and pattern recognition, with a particular focus on handwriting biometrics and smart grid topologies.
