Author Nicoleta Lupu received Dipl.-Ing. in Applied Physics, M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Physics from the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași, in Romania, in 1996, 1997, and 2001, respectively. She joined the National Institute of R&D for Technical Physics in 1997 (General Director since 2011). She was a JSPS fellow (2000) and a post-doctoral fellow (2002-2005) at INP Grenoble, Tohoku University, Sendai, ILL and ESRF Grenoble. She was a visiting professor at L'Université du Maine (2006) and IMR, Tohoku University, Sendai (2010, 2012, and 2015). Her research focuses on magnetic and magnetoelastic materials, nanoparticles and nanowire arrays, structurally disordered materials, and sensors and devices, including EHD and energy storage/transportation.
