Information

My research interests include glaciology, ice dynamics, atmosphere-ice-ocean interaction, climate change, numerical modeling, remote sensing (radar interferometry, radar sounding, airborne gravity), and field work (airborne and shipborne) to better understand the interaction of ice and climate and project the contribution of melting ice sheets to sea level rise. I received NASA Exceptional Scientific Achievement Medals, NASA Outstanding Leadership, Louis Agassiz Division Medal of European Geophysical Union, Nobel Peace Prize with co-authors of IPCC AR4 2007, and NASA Certificates of Recognition. I am a Member of the National Academy of Sciences, Fellow of the American Geophysical Union, Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researcher in 2014-2019.
