In 2001, I obtained a PhD from the Pasteur Institute, Paris, in the group of P. Brulet, where I studied neural circuits in the mouse, followed by a post-doc in C. Houart's team at King's College, London. In 2007, I joined P. Herbomel's team at the Pasteur Institute, Paris, where I described and published seminal papers describing zebrafish hematopoiesis (Kissa & Herbomel, Nature 2010; Kissa et al, Immunity 2006; Kissa et al, Blood 2008). Since 2011, I have been a Researcher at Inserm, where I am carrying out a translational study characterizing the link between mechanical force and genetic reprogramming, enabling the emergence of blood stem cells in zebrafish, as well as the role of macrophages in cancer progression.
