Prof. Dr. Sazaly AbuBakar is the Director of the Tropical Infectious Diseases Research and Education Centre (TIDREC) and the WHO Collaborating Centre for Arbovirus Research and Reference (Dengue and Severe Dengue) at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He completed his BSc studies in Biology at Western Illinois University, MSc studies in Microbiology at Western Illinois University, and PhD studies in Microbiology at the University of Texas. He has published over 200 articles in prestigious journals. His research interests include emerging infectious diseases and vector-borne diseases.
