Monica Moroni received her PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Rome “La Sapienza" in 2000. She is currently an Associate Professor at the Department of Civil, Building, and Environmental Engineering of Sapienza University of Rome. Her research activity is focused on hyperspectral image analysis for environmental monitoring, pollutant dispersion in saturated and unsaturated porous media, experimental and numerical simulations of the atmospheric boundary layer with simple and complex orography, the development of experimental techniques based on image analysis for the study of turbulence and the identification of coherent structures in complex fluid dynamics fields, and the interpretation of fluid dynamics fields, determined by experimental techniques, in geophysical flows (subduction, volcanic eruptions). Her scientific production consists of one doctoral dissertation, 189 scientific articles (of which, 78 are published in International journals with peer-review), and one monograph ("Experimental Fluid Mechanics", A. Cenedese, M. Moroni (346 pages, 2012). Published by Università La Sapienza ROMA, ISBN: 9788895814629).
