Dr. T.S. Srivatsan is Professor (Emeritus) in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Akron (Akron, Ohio, USA). He received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University (Bangalore, India) and graduate degrees (Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering) from Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, Georgia, USA). His research interests span the areas of fatigue and fracture behavior, processing techniques for advanced materials, the inter-relationship between processing and mechanical behavior, electron microscopy, failure analysis, and mechanical design. He has edited 68 books and 5 monographs in areas cross-pollinating mechanical design with the processing and fabrication of advanced materials; the deformation, fatigue, and fracture of ordered intermetallic materials; the machining of composites; failure analysis; rapid solidification processing of materials; manufacturing techniques for materials; and high entropy alloys (innovations, advances, and applications). His research has enabled him to deliver over 250 technical presentations at national and international meetings. He has also authored over 750 archival publications in international journals, chapters in books, proceedings of national and international conferences, reviews of books, and technical reports.
