Dr. Amit Kumar has been involved in interdisciplinary research with a focus on human–environment interactions and disaster risk and resilience for the last 13 years. His research primarily focuses on understanding the ecological implications of climate change and disaster risk in urban regions and forest ecosystems, with the aim of developing innovative solutions for climate-resilient societies. He has engaged with various research projects including LTEO, NISAR, GISAT, and AVIRIS missions and published over 100 peer-reviewed research articles/ book chapters. Dr. Kumar is the recipient of various awards/ fellowships and is a member of numerous academic societies (IUCN-CEM, South Asia; GFBI, USA).
