Marco Casini received a Laurea degree in information engineering and a Ph.D. in control systems from the University of Siena, Siena, Italy, in 1999 and 2003, respectively. In 2005, he joined the Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell'Informazione of the University of Siena, where he is currently an Associate Professor. In 2001, he was a visiting researcher at the Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems (LIDS) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA. He is a member of the IEEE, IEEE Control System Society and IFAC. He is the author of several publications in international journals and conference proceedings. His present research includes set-membership system identification, pursuit–evasion games, smart grids and optimal energy management.
