Saeed Olyaee is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University and the founder and head of the Nano-photonics and Optoelectronics Research Laboratory (NORLab), established in 2006. He received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Mazandaran in 1997 and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering (Optoelectronics) from IUST in 1999 and 2007, respectively. His doctoral research focused on nanometric displacement measurement using a three-longitudinal-mode laser. Olyaee has authored and co-authored more than 350 scientific publications, including 207 journal papers, 136 conference papers, and books and book chapters. He has also led or contributed to approximately 50 university-level and national research projects. He has held several academic and administrative positions, including Vice-President for Research and Technology and Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and has served on the editorial boards and scientific committees of several national and international journals and conferences. He has been listed among the world's top 2% of scientists in the annual impact category for seven consecutive years (2019–2025). His research interests include laser nanometrology, optical instrumentation, photonic crystal fibers and sensors, THz materials and devices, and solar cells.
