A new one parameter distribution recently was proposed for modelling lifetime data called half logistic-geometric (HLG) distribution. In this paper, appropriate transformation is considered for HLG distribution and a new distribution is derived called unit half logistic-geometric (UHLG) distribution for modelling bounded data in the interval (0, 1). Some important statistical properties are investigated with a closed form quantile function. Some methods of parameter estimation are introduced to evaluate the distribution parameter and a simulation study is introduced to compare these different methods. A real data application in the insurance field is introduced to show the flexibility of the new distribution modelling such data comparing with other distributions.

The goal of this paper is to develop an optimal statistical model to analyze COVID‐19 data in order to model and analyze the COVID‐19 mortality rates in Somalia. Combining the log‐logistic distribution and the tangent function yields the flexible extension log‐logistic tangent (LLT) distribution, a new two‐parameter distribution. This new distribution has a number of excellent statistical and mathematical properties, including a simple failure rate function, reliability function, and cumulative distribution function. Maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) is used to estimate the unknown parameters of the proposed distribution. A numerical and visual result of the Monte Carlo simulation is obtained to evaluate the use of the MLE method. In addition, the LLT model is compared to the well‐known two‐parameter, three‐parameter, and four‐parameter competitors. Gompertz, log‐logistic, kappa, exponentiated log‐logistic, Marshall–Olkin log‐logistic, Kumaraswamy log‐logistic, and beta log‐logistic are among the competing models. Different goodness‐of‐fit measures are used to determine whether the LLT distribution is more useful than the competing models in COVID‐19 data of mortality rate analysis.

An extension of the cosine generalized family is presented in this paper by using the cosine trigonometric function and method of parameter induction concurrently. Prominent characteristics of the proposed family along with useful results are extracted. Moreover, two new subfamilies and several special models are also deduced. A four-parameter model called an Extended Cosine Weibull (ECW) with its mathematical properties is studied deeply. Graphical study reveals that the new model adopts right- and left-skewed, symmetrical, and reversed-J density shapes, while all possible monotone and nonmonotone shapes are exhibited by the hazard rate function. The maximum likelihood technique is exercised for parametric estimation, while estimation performance is accessed via Monte Carlo simulation study graphically and numerically. The superiority of the presented model over several outstanding and competing models is confirmed via three reliability and survival dataset applications.

The ”Akshaya distribution” is a model one-parameter continuous distribution that has been proposed by [15] for modelling lifetime data from biological research and engineering. This paper presents both the classical and Bayesian estimation methods for the Akshaya’s parameter. The model parameter is determined using the weighted least square estimation (WLSE), least square estimation(LSE), Cramer-von-Mises estimation(CVME), and maximum likelihood estimation (MLE), five conventional estimation methods. Additionally, the squared error loss function and Bayesian estimation(BE) under independent gamma priors were used to determine the parameter of the proposed distribution. Finally, the applicability and utility of the proposed distribution is elaborated using simulation study.

This article is an extension of the Chris-Jerry distribution (C-JD) in that a two-parameter Chris-Jerry distribution (TPCJD) is suggested and its characteristics are studied. Based on the determined domain of attraction and other major statistical properties, the proposed TPCJD seems to fit into the Gumbel domain. Additionally, it has been confirmed that the stress strength is reliable. The tail study suggests that the TPCJD’s substantial tail makes it suited for a range of applications. The study took into account the single acceptance sampling approach using both simulation and real-life situations. The parameters of the TPCJD were estimated by some classical and Bayesian approaches. The mean squared errors (MSE), linear-exponential, and generalized entropy loss functions were deployed to obtain the Bayesian estimators aided by the Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) simulation. An analysis of lifetime data on two events justified the use of the proposed distribution after comparing the results with some standard lifetime models.

A novel lifetime distribution has been defined and examined in this study. The odd Lindley–Pareto (OLiP) distribution is the name we give to the new distribution. The new density function can be written as an odd Lindley-G distribution with Pareto amplification. The moment-generating function and characteristic function, entropy and asymptotic behavior, order statistics and moments, mode, variance, skewness, and kurtosis are some of the aspects of the OLiP distribution that are discovered. Seven non-Bayesian estimation techniques and Bayesian estimation utilizing Markov chain Monte Carlo were compared for performance. Additionally, when the lifetime test is truncated after a predetermined period, single acceptance sampling plans (SASPs) are created for the newly suggested, OLiP distribution. The median lifetime of the OLiP distribution with pre-specified factors is taken as the truncation time. To guarantee that the specific life test is obtained at the defined risk to the user, the minimum sample size is required. For a particular consumer’s risk, the OLiP distribution’s parameters, and the truncation time, numerical results are obtained. The new distribution is illustrated using mortality rates of COVID-19 patients in Canada and vinyl chloride data in (g/L) from ground-water monitoring wells that are located in clean-up-gradient areas.
