David Alors completed his PhD thesis in the Systemol research group at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, working in the field of molecular systematics of Parmeliaceae lichens. He conducts research in Frankfurt (Germany) and Chicago (USA). He completed his postdoc studying the molecular mechanism of the infection caused by the blastocladialean fungus, Paraphysoderma sedebokerense, in the microalgae, Haematococcus lacustris. Currently, David is teaching as an assistant professor in Chile and participating in research projects with lichens in central and southern Chile.
