Biography

Medical Sciences Researcher specializing in embryofetal cardiac development, congenital heart defects, and experimental teratogenesis. I hold a PhD and conduct research at the Laboratory of Developmental Biology and Experimental Teratogenesis within the Congenital Malformations Research Unit at Hospital Infantil de México Federico Gómez. My research focuses on the impact of maternal metabolic alterations, particularly diabetes, on embryofetal cardiogenesis. Integrating preclinical experimental models, morphometric analysis, histopathological diagnosis, and molecular diagnostic applications, my work aims to elucidate the tissue and molecular mechanisms underlying diabetes-induced congenital heart disease and disrupted cardiac morphogenesis. Beyond research, I am a University Professor teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in histology, pathology, preclinical models, and genetics. I have presented at more than 50 national and international conferences. My professional affiliations include the Mexican Association of Cardiology, the Ibero-American Society of Histology, and the Mexican Society of Anatomy.
