Karekin D. Esmeryan received his Ph.D. degree in physics, with a minor in wave processes, from Georgi Nadjakov Institute of Solid State Physics, Sofia, Bulgaria in March 2014. Currently, he is an associate professor in “Acoustoelectronics” at the same Institute. His research is focused on the integration of super-nonwettable soot-based materials in passive anti-icing systems, antibiofouling surfaces, piezoresonance (acoustic wave) biological sensors for human semen, urine, and saliva characterization, as well as for cryoconservation of living matter.
