Information

Giuseppe Failla earned a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering at the University of Palermo in 2001. He has eighteen years of experience in teaching "Structural Mechanics", "Dynamics of Structures" and "Theory of Structures" at the University of Reggio Calabria, Italy, where he became Associate Professor in 2015. In 2002, he was Visiting Lecturer at Rice University, Houston, USA, where he was in charge of the "Mechanics of Structures" course for undergraduate students. His research interests are the dynamics of metamaterials, nonlocal elasticity, fractional viscoelasticity, dynamics of offshore wind turbines. Since 2018, he has taken part in the European Project "The Blue Growth Farm", Project ID. 774426, Call H2020-BG-2017-1. Since 2019, he leads a research unit within the National Project "Multiscale Innovative Materials and Structures (MIMS)", Project ID. PRIN 2017J4EAYB. At present, he has authored more than 80 publications in peer-reviewed international journals.
