Mak Sithirith obtained his Ph.D. in Geography in 2011 from the Department of Geography, at the National University of Singapore. In 2014 he pursued a post-doctoral fellowship on transboundary water governance and climate change impacts in the Lower Mekong Basin at the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in the Netherlands. He has more than 25 years of experience in research and development in the fields of environment, fishery, water resources development, and Mekong-related issues with various institutions, including EU, ADB, UNDP, and WorldFish. He has published several publications on water governance, fisheries, Tonle Sap, and the Mekong. He is currently undertaking a post-doctoral fellowship with WorldFish on the governance of land, water, and natural resources.
