Effective intelligent fault diagnosis has long been a research focus on the condition monitoring of rotary machinery systems. Traditionally, time-domain vibration-based fault diagnosis has some deficiencies, such as complex computation of feature vectors, excessive dependence on prior knowledge and diagnostic expertise, and limited capacity for learning complex relationships in fault signals. Furthermore, following the increase in condition data, how to promptly process the massive fault data and automatically provide accurate diagnosis has become an urgent need to solve. Inspired by the idea of compressed sensing and deep learning, a novel intelligent diagnosis method is proposed for fault identification of rotating machines. In this paper, a nonlinear projection is applied to achieve the compressed acquisition, which not only reduces the amount of measured data that contained all the information of faults but also realizes the automatic feature extraction in transform domain. For exploring the discrimination hidden in the acquired data, a stacked sparse autoencoders-based deep neural network is established and performed with an unsupervised learning procedure followed by a supervised fine-tuning process. We studied the significance of compressed acquisition and provided the effects of key factors and comparison with traditional methods. The effectiveness of the proposed method is validated using data sets from rolling element bearings and the analysis shows that it is able to obtain high diagnotic accuracies and is superior to the existing methods. The proposed method reduces the need of human labor and expertise and provides new strategy to handle the massive data more easily.
Automatic feature extraction is one of the most advantageous merits of deep neural network (DNN), meanwhile, it is an important part for intelligent bearing fault diagnosis. However, most of fault diagnosis methods based on DNN usually excavate the complex relations from original time sequence signals which only present the fault information in time domain. Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) has demonstrated powerful feature learning capabilities in bearing fault diagnosis and the deeper the diagnosis model is, the better the recognition performance is, which resulted in some problems. In order to enrich the fault information from different views and enhance the discrimination for features learned from diagnosis network, this paper proposed a bearing fault diagnosis method based on multi-domain information fusion and improved residual dense network. The original signal and its transformed signals composed the multi-channel input, which contained more comprehensive information and will benefit the deep learning. Then it designed a residual dense network and introduced the convolution attention mechanism which can discriminate the importance of features further improve the feature extraction capability and efficiency of diagnosis network. Finally, it achieved the fault classification, analyzed the effects of key parameters and compared with other diagnosis to verify the effectiveness by lots of experimental results.
In this study, a small leak detection method based on variational mode decomposition (VMD) and ambiguity correlation classification (ACC) is proposed. The signals acquired from sensors were decomposed using the VMD, and numerous components were obtained. According to the probability density function (PDF), an adaptive de-noising algorithm based on VMD is proposed for noise component processing and de-noised components reconstruction. Furthermore, the ambiguity function image was employed for analysis of the reconstructed signals. Based on the correlation coefficient, ACC is proposed to detect the small leak of pipeline. The analysis of pipeline leakage signals, using 1 mm and 2 mm leaks, has shown that proposed detection method can detect a small leak accurately and effectively. Moreover, the experimental results have shown that the proposed method achieved better performances than support vector machine (SVM) and back propagation neural network (BP) methods.

Remote monitoring of bearing conditions, using wireless sensor network (WSN), is a developing trend in the industrial field. In complicated industrial environments, WSN face three main constraints: low energy, less memory, and low operational capability. Conventional data-compression methods, which concentrate on data compression only, cannot overcome these limitations. Aiming at these problems, this paper proposed a compressed data acquisition and reconstruction scheme based on Compressed Sensing (CS) which is a novel signal-processing technique and applied it for bearing conditions monitoring via WSN. The compressed data acquisition is realized by projection transformation and can greatly reduce the data volume, which needs the nodes to process and transmit. The reconstruction of original signals is achieved in the host computer by complicated algorithms. The bearing vibration signals not only exhibit the sparsity property, but also have specific structures. This paper introduced the block sparse Bayesian learning (BSBL) algorithm which works by utilizing the block property and inherent structures of signals to reconstruct CS sparsity coefficients of transform domains and further recover the original signals. By using the BSBL, CS reconstruction can be improved remarkably. Experiments and analyses showed that BSBL method has good performance and is suitable for practical bearing-condition monitoring.
Traditional gas pipeline leak detection methods usually face challenges in that there are redundant data collected on account of the time-domain sampling theory and the valuable leakage information is hidden in the complex vibration signals. This paper put forward an intelligent aperture identification method for natural gas pipeline leakage. This method integrated the compression of monitoring data based on compressed sensing (CS) transformation and automatic feature extraction and identification based on deep neural networks, namely, denoising sparse autoencoder (DSAE). The compressed acquisition can greatly reduce the volume to be processed and effectively extract the aperture information. DSAE combined the merits of sparse auto-encoder (SAE), denoising coding and dropout to achieve robust feature extraction and aperture classification. Experimental results validate the effectiveness and good performance, and the proposed method can realize faster and more accurate identification of different leak sizes compared with the traditional methods.
