Marija Matic MD, PhD, is an associate professor of medical and clinical biochemistry at the Medical Faculty University of Belgrade, Serbia. The major focus of her scientific research is investigation of the role of antioxidant enzymes' polymorphisms in susceptibility to chronic renal diseases (ESRD and BEN) and their potential to serve as predictive and prognostic biomarkers, as well as gene-environment interaction in susceptibility to disease, with special emphasis on the association of glutathione transferase polymorphisms with the risk of urogenital tumors, as documented by 45 publications in peer-reviewed journals, h-index 14.
