Prof. Takeshi Shiono is currently working as a professor in the Polymer Chemistry Group, Department of Applied Chemistry, Graduate School of Engineering, Hiroshima University. From 1993–2004, he served as an associate professor in polymer chemistry at the Research Laboratory of Resources Utilization, Tokyo Institute of Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, which he received in 1988. His present research fields include (1) the stereospecific living polymerization of olefins; (2) the functionalization of polyolefins; (3) the stereospecific polymerization of polar vinyl monomers by metallocene catalysts.
