Shujian Yu received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Florida in 2019 with a Ph.D. minor in Statistics. He is now an assistant professor at the Department of Computer Science, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His research interests lie on the intersection between machine learning and information theory. He received the 2020 International Neural Networks Society (INNS) Aharon Katzir Young Investigator Award for the contribution on the development of novel information theoretic measures for the analysis and training of deep neural networks.
