NURHAYATI graduated from the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Surabaya, Indonesia, with a bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree. She is currently an associate professor with the Electrical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Negeri Surabaya. She is currently the secretary of the center for research and innovation strengthening at a research and community service institute of Universitas Negeri Surabaya. Her current research interests include electromagnetic computation, wireless communication, antenna and propagation, antenna design, antenna array, MIMO antenna, wideband antenna, radar, and microwave imaging.
