Dr. Yoav Finer is a Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto. He is cross-appointed to the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (BME), University of Toronto. Following the completion of a Ph.D. degree in Biomaterials and Biomedical engineering, he completed a specialty program at the Faculty of dentistry University of Toronto. He is the George Zarb/Nobel Biocare Chair in Prosthodontics. His current research areas mainly include biomaterials-host and microbial interactions and the development of restorative materials and dental implant systems. He has been awarded numerous research grants and awards, including Innovation in Oral Care Award and the Peyton-Skinner award from the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) grant, New Frontiers in Research Fund Exploration Grant (NFRFE), Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), Idea to Innovation I2I, and Operating grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and National Institutes of Health (NIH).
