Chong-Yu Xu is a Professor at the Department of Geosciences,
University of Oslo, Norway. He was an Associate Professor of Hydrology at the
Department of Earth Sciences, Uppsala University. He was an Assistant Engineer
at The Ministry of Water Resources, China. He received a Ph.D. and M.S. at the
Free University Brussels, Brussels, Belgium. He obtained a B.S. at the Nanjing
University, China. He completed his postdoctoral work at Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
He won the Lifetime Achievement Award 2022 from the Nordic Association for
Hydrology (NHF) and the Outstanding Contribution Award from Advances in Climate
Change Research (ACCR). He is a Fellow of The Norwegian Academy of Science and
Letters (DNVA). He is an Honorable professor at Hohai University, China and
Beijing Normal University, China.
