Akhtar Rasool completed his PhD in Mechatronics with a thesis titled ‘‘Control of Converters as Source for Microgrid’’ in 2017, and his MSc and BSc in EE in the years 2009 and 2007, respectively. He has been serving at the University of Botswana as a Senior Lecturer since May 2022. Previously, he served at Sharif College of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, as an AP, as the Head of QEC, and as the Head of the Electrical Engineering Department until April 2022; at UET-Taxila as an AP until April 2018; at Sabanci University as a TA until July 2017; at Hajvery University as a Lecturer until 2012; and at GC University Faisalabad as a Lab Engineer until January 2008. Besides academic roles, he has worked in a vast range of industries with well-known consultancy firms. His interests include the control of converters with applications ranging from the integration of RESs, MGs, smart grids, electrical machines, EVs, electric steering/braking, robotic actuators, energy management, process control, cascade control applications, high-voltage diagnostics, process control, identification, model-based control, etc.
