Paola Durán belongs to an interdisciplinary research group (Center of Plant Soil Interaction and Plant Biotechnology) that is part of the Scientific and Technologic Bioresearch Nucleus (BIOREN), contributing significantly to plant pathogen biocontrol. She is head of the Biocontrol Research Laboratory and was the author or coauthor of more than 20 scientific publications in the last five years, highlighting an important contribution of international researchers and doctorate students, as well as postdoctorates. During her career as a researcher, she has directed or codirected more than 15 projects of great importance, both national and international. She is the director of the Chilean Culture Collection of the strain type CCCT-UFRO at the University of La Frontera.
