Dr. Krasimir Rusanov received his Master degree in Chemical Technologies from the Department of Biotechnology at the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, Sofia in 2000. In 2005, Dr. Rusanov defended his PhD in Genetics at the AgroBioInstitute, National Centre of Agricultural Sciences (today Agricultural Academy), Sofia. During his career Dr. Rusanov has performed several mid-term specializations including a one year specialization as a Visiting Scientist at the National Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology, Rural Development Administration, Suwon, South Korea and a six month specialization at the University of Applied Sciences of Northwestern Switzerland and the University of Basel. Currently Dr. Rusanov holds the position of Associate Professor at the AgroBioInstitute, Agricultural Academy, Sofia, where he serves as Head of the Agrobiotechnology Department. Dr. Rusanov’s scientific interests include genomics and metabolomics studies in medicinal and essential oil-bearing plants (MEP) as well as valorization of by-products and wastes from MEP.
