Dr. Đorđe Vojnović is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. He obtained his PhD in Vegetable Science, focusing on biostimulants and stress-related nitrogen fertilization strategies for improving onion productivity and quality.
His research is primarily oriented toward sustainable vegetable production, with emphasis on water and nutrient management, biostimulants, and the application of advanced analytical tools such as artificial neural networks (ANN) and multivariate statistics (PCA). His work integrates traditional agronomic practices with modern AI-assisted approaches to optimize yield and quality in vegetable crops.
In addition to academic work, he is actively involved in vegetable farming in the village of Šašinci (Srem District), where watermelon, melon, onion, and potato are produced. He is also an advocate of innovative art–science approaches aimed at bringing science closer to society and promoting its practical application.
He is actively involved in the preparation of national and international research projects, including Horizon Europe initiatives, and is the founder of INNO4VEG – an association dedicated to promoting innovation in sustainable vegetable production.
